Procrastination: A challenge

Procrastination is a challenge for everyone, especially for students and it leads to stress among students and often affects their performance. Every problem has its solution and likewise, there are many strategies that can be used to fight procrastination.

We are going to discuss the first strategy by taking an example. When you see a giant mountain in front of you, it looks very tough task and your mind asks you to skip this task as it looks very big and tough. In that case, if you just start climbing it step by step instead of just looking towards the size of the task, it will become achievable. Similarly, one of the most common reasons for procrastination is when you look towards the task, it seems too big and tough. When you break it down, it becomes manageable. Breaking tasks into smaller steps makes them more achievable.

Another strategy that can help in overcoming procrastination is removing distractions from your environment. Procrastination often develops in an environment full of distractions, that leads to keep you away from your goals. You need to analyse the things that attract you towards them and due to which you are making delays in doing required work, whether it is social media, any friend, or any other thing.  You need to avoid the things that create distraction.

In concluding this blog, I would like to say that procrastination is a very common problem that every student faces, but the right strategies can help in overcoming it. Also, overcoming procrastination is not a cakewalk, it takes time, patience and practice.
